SML Big Adventure Camp - Are you up for the challenge?
Just because your kids say they are too big for a camp, doesn't mean they have to sit around looking for something to do. Now that they are 13-17, they are old enough for the Big Adventures - fly fishing, canoeing, summit hikes, and rock climbing. Join us each weekend for the adventure of the day and start enjoying Vermont with the big kids.
Sample Schedule:
Thursday - Day at the Lake - Canoeing and fly fishing! The Orvis Endorsed Guides from Green Mountain Troutfitters will join us to teach and guide you to an unforgettable experience.
Friday - Rock Climbing - Climb and repel around Mount Mansfield to experience the mountain in a truly unique fashion.
Saturday - Summit Day - Time to trek up Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak! Let our experienced staff lead you to the summit for a challenging adventure before taking in the panoramic views of the summit.
May 29 - June 13, 2009 / Fridays & Saturdays, 9:30am - 3:00pm
June 18 - September 5, 2009 / Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays, 9:30am - 3:00pm
$130 per person, $100 per additional sibling, includes lunch. (Cost is per day)
Stowe Summer Camp Adventure Program
At Stowe Summer Camp Adventure Program every day is an Adventure. Activities will be age appropriate and include hiking, biking, gardening, nature walks, rock climbing, swimming, attractions (gondola rides, bungee trampoline, alpine slide, climbing wall and obstacle course) kite flying, games & puzzle building. There will be arts and crafts, tie dying, bead jewelry, make your own kites/Frisbees/musical instruments, face painting, finger painting, and more. There will also be guest visits from experts in gardening, rock climbing, entomology, the environment and nature studies.
Who: Kids ages 4 to 12
Kids Adventure is for 4-6 year olds
Mountain Adventure is for 7-12 year olds
When: 7 days a week from June 20, 2009 thru September 6, 2009, 9:00am - 3:30pm; drop off 8:30am
Location: Stowe Mountain Resort Cross Country Center
Cost: Adventure Season Pass: $1,820
Adventure Pass 5 day (plus 2 bonus days if purchased prior to May 15, 2009): $520
Adventure Pass 5 day: $520
Adventure Camp single day: $130
All passes include a camp T-shirt, a water bottle and attraction fees on attraction days. Lunch, drinks and snacks are also included in the Camp program. The 5 day pass can be used any five days camp is in session. The 5 days do not have to be consecutive. The same applies for the bonus days. With the exception of the single day, the only requirement is that you reserve your dates in advance.

Babysitting
Any daycare needs for children less than 6 years of age, or for evening childcare for any age, please contact the Alpine Concierge at extension 4796, they will be happy to assist you in your search. Please provide your request at least 72 hours in advance. An extra fee will be required and paid to the babysitter.
Important Information for All Children's Activities:
Please schedule extra time to check your child in with our recreation staff at the beginning of each session to fill out information sheets and to discuss snack and meal items as well as the day's activities.
- Please take time to inform the Recreation Staff of any allergies or medical issues.
- All children participating in the SML Kid's programs should be fully potty trained and out of diapers.
- Any children requiring medication need to be able to self administer.
- Each child should arrive to an activity with:
Summer Activities
- Water for the day (no more than 1 liter is necessary)
- Sturdy sneakers or boots (sorry, no sandals,crocs or flip-flops will be allowed)
- Sunscreen
- Warm shirt or jacket (weather changes quick in the mountains)
- Any necessary medications.
- For water days, swim suit, towel and flip-flops
Winter Activities
- Warm Waterproof boots
- Water for the day (no more than 1 liter is necessary)
- Appropriate cold weather clothes for the day
- Any necessary medications
**All activities are subject to change or cancellation. Availability is limited for most activities. Please place your reservation in advance. Children that will be six years old by September 1st of the upcoming school year will be allowed to participate in the programming. Babysitting must be set up 48 hours in advance.
