Signature 18-hole, par 72 championship Stowe Mountain Golf Course designed by the legendary Bob Cupp is available to Lodge guests. Scenery includes expansive mountain vistas, with cascading streams shaded by maple and birch trees. The golf course is the first in Vermont to receive Audubon International's Signature Sanctuary Certification and one of Golf Magazine's "Top Ten New Course". Shot Guns available. Late May - Early October.
Stowe Mountain Lodge will run a Round Robin Tournament utilizing 3 of our 6 clay courts with professional instructors available to your guests for instruction and tournament management. Your guests will enjoy a 20 minute warm up session led by our professionals prior to the start of the tournament. The tournament can be designed for singles or doubles, depending on the number of participants. Each round will last approximately 20 minutes. In the allotted two hour timeline, three courts can accommodate a doubles Round Robin tournament with 6 teams (12 people).
Stowe Mountain Lodge has 6 clay courts which are available for group events based on availability and programs.
Hiking & Biking
Ranch Valley Hike
Enjoy a 2-hour guided hike for beginners through a second growth hardwood forest around the birthplace of Stowe skiing. Enjoy river side and valley views. Terrain: varies throughout with subtle hills. (Hike, transfers, and bottled water.)
Gondola Ride and Hike
Adventure on a 3-hour journey beginning the 14 minute ride on the Gondola to the summit of Mt. Mansfield. Your guide will lead you around the trails skirting the cliff walls of Mount Mansfield to discover eye popping views of the surrounding area. Terrain: Moderate to Difficult at times. Exposed rock outcroppings with some technical challenges.
Path Bicycle Ride
Join our guide in a fun, relaxing bike ride on the Stowe Recreation Path. Its 5.5 miles of paved trail that winds over bridges, around the village, and in varies park lands. On this tour, riders set the experience as options will be provided for shopping, snacking, relaxing, or just riding your bike.
Private Canoeing & Kayaking
(For groups of 15-60, transportation can be arranged pending locations)
Morning River Kayak
A short morning paddle that leaves the afternoon free for other activities. Guided tour only. Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Two hours. (Single Kayaks)
Water & Wine
Wet your whistle for Vermont's local culture. This guided trip starts right in Jeffersonville and travels 4 ½ miles (1 ¾-2 hours) by river to the award winning Boyden farm just west of Cambridge. We finish with a tour of the wine making process and a wine tasting with bread and cheese at the Boyden Valley Winery. (Single Kayaks).
Ice Cream Float
What could be a more relaxing and enjoyable combination than a family paddle on a Vermont river and eating ice cream? Enjoy some of Vermont's finest. Paddle, stop, eat Ben and Jerry's Peace Pops on a beach next to the river, and then finish with another half hour paddle (all down river).
Flyfishing Walk and Wade River Tours
Join our Orvis Endorsed fly fishing guides for a four-hour outing on one of Vermont's pristine trout streams. Under the watchful eye of your guide from Green Mountain Troutfitters, you'll cast flies to wily brook, brown and rainbow trout amidst a most serene environment. Our Orvis Endorsed guides are seasoned fishermen who take pride in offering an exceptional level of service and professionalism to our guests. We cater to all ages and ability levels and keep our client/guide ratio at no more than 4/1, insuring personalized attention from your guide.
Landlocked Salmon Fishing (Seasonal)
In the Spring and Fall, Vermont's resident Landlocked Atlantic Salmon begin their migration out of the big lake and into select tributaries where they will chase spawning bait fish in the spring or engage in their own fall spawning ritual. These salmon are some of the best fighting, acrobatic fish that fly anglers will ever pursue and an absolute must for anglers visiting Vermont.
