It's a New Day at Stowe
For years, skiers in search of a destination resort experience have turned to well-known Western locales such as Aspen, Vail, Beaver Creek and Deer Valley. Now, the East Coast's first true destination resort is taking shape with the opening of the luxurious new Stowe Mountain Lodge, located in the historic and quintessential town of Stowe, Vermont. A host of mountain and community improvements, including a new transfer lift linking Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak, the development of Spruce Peak at Stowe - an $400 million intimate, ski-in/ski-out and golf-in/golf-out neighborhood with the new Stowe Mountain Lodge as the centerpiece - as well as a feast of luxury residences and outstanding recreational, wellness, dining, retail, and cultural amenities, are setting Stowe to become the preeminent luxury mountain resort in the nation.

A Beacon for Environmental Stewardship
At the center of the only mountain resort in the United States to have been awarded Audubon International's sustainable community award, Stowe Mountain Lodge was built using eco-friendly practices and maintains a commitment to environmental stewardship through their operational practices. Stowe Mountain Lodge is taking every step to preserve and protect our natural surroundings. Organic bamboo linens, furniture made from salvaged wood, an in-house naturalist to lead nature tours of the lodge's surrounding 2,000 acres of conservation land, and the use of eco-friendly cleaning products by the hotel's housekeeping staff are just a few examples of Stowe Mountain Lodges extensive green initiative program.

A Breathtaking Golf Course Designed by Bob Cupp, With the Help of Mother Nature.
Created by renowned golf course designer (and Jack Nicklaus protégée) Bob Cupp, the 18-hole, par 72 "wilderness" course winds dramatically along the lower reaches of Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak to an elevation of more than 1800 feet. Available exclusively to club members, as well as guests of Stowe Mountain Lodge, the resort course offers breathtaking mountain views of Mt. Mansfield, Spruce Peak and the Worcester Range. Stowe Mountain Club was designed as an environmentally conscious project, and is the first golf course in Vermont to achieve Audubon International Signature Sanctuary certification.

Local Artisans Add Creative Flair to Stowe Mountain Lodge Design
As a true showcase for the local area's most renowned artisans, Stowe Mountain Lodge's guest rooms are adorned with paintings from various Vermont artists, as well as lamps from Quechee's famed glassblower Simon Pearce, and olive oil-based bath amenities produced in Vermont for Salon Mario Russo. Public spaces display select wooden works from Bridgewater-based furniture maker Charles Shackleton, complemented by pieces from his wife, pottery maker Miranda Thomas. Artistic woodworker Parker Nichols has salvaged old-growth trees that have succumbed to time, from local forests near his Marshfield studio, to create a host stand and tables for the lodge’s restaurant and select pieces for the spa. Iron works around the hotel have been custom created by award-winning blacksmiths Hubbardton Forge in Castleton, Vermont. Vermont Fine Art Gallery in Stowe has selected works from local artists that are displayed throughout the lodge.
