Stowe Mountain Lodge Food & Beverage

Stowe, Vt. – Located between two spectacular mountains—Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak, Stowe Mountain Lodge is nestled in the heart of Stowe Mountain Resort in the quaint village of Stowe, VT.  This preeminent luxury lodge is home to some of the finest dining in the northeast, and prides itself on using only the freshest, natural, local ingredients possible.  Whether guests seek a casual poolside meal, gourmet lunch or fine dining with artisan-inspired cuisine, Stowe Mountain Lodge’s offerings will appeal to even the most discerning of travelers.  With three exceptional on-site dining options, guests of the lodge and locals alike are ensured an outstanding dining experience with exceptional service.

Farm-to-Table Concept

Whether serving a burger and fries or a steak with all the accompaniments, Stowe Mountain Lodge perpetuates their farm-to-table ideology in every menu item.  The farm-to-table concept is the idea that fresh, local ingredients are prepared to enhance the natural flavors and quality of the food creating innovative, gourmet dishes that are healthy and incredibly delectable.  This culinary model is perfectly suited for Stowe Mountain Lodge, as the lodge is already a huge proponent and supporter of all things sustainable and green.  Farm-to-table cuisine inherently supports local farmers and the surrounding area, allowing the lodge to give back to the community in yet another way.  Stowe Mountain Lodge partners with advocacy groups like Vermont Fresh Network and Chefs Collaboratives to stay informed and involved in farm-fresh, forward thinking initiatives.

Vermont has the greatest number of artisan cheese makers per capita in the country, and some of the best cheese in the world is cultured in Vermont.  Stowe Mountain Lodge takes full advantage of this amazing cheese selection in their backyard, and seasonally changes the cheese featured on the menu.  From natural rind goat’s milk to blue raw cow’s milk, each cheese is chosen from a local Vermont cheesemaker and represents a variety of flavors and textures.  The world-class lodge also boasts an expansive wine list hand selected by a renowned sommelier who meticulously tasted each dish and created a wine list that equally pays tribute to the artisan menu as well the unique and comforting destination of Stowe.

Providing a rustic, elegant ambiance and flawless service, Solstice offers contemporary, artisan cuisine and a breathtaking view of one of Vermont’s most inspiring mountains, Spruce Peak.  Floor to ceiling windows that overlook the mountains and the bustling base village serve as the perfect backdrop for Stowe Mountain Lodge’s signature restaurant.  As a tribute to the longest and shortest days of the year, the name Solstice innately inspires change.  Diners are invited to experience an ever changing menu and scenery while expecting the same world-class service and standards year after year.  The menu at Solstice utilizes the farm-to-table concept in each dish, and allows guests to view and experience the preparation of their meal through the vibrant open kitchen.

Regional New England seafood, Vermont cheese and dairy products, local fruits and vegetables and free-range, naturally raised chicken are all staples in the sumptuous menu, and are incorporated in offerings including the Maine lobster risotto, braised Vermont lamb gnocchi and butternut squash and blue cheese flatbread.  Solstice’s incredible yet simplistic menu options and inviting location appeals to families, couples, groups and children alike.

Named for one of Stowe’s most popular and historic backcountry ski trails, Hourglass bar and lounge is the perfect spot for a refreshing beverage or casual meal at any time of the day.  Featuring a variety of regional mircobrews on tap, signature cocktails and rare wines by the glass, Hourglass offers a sophisticated environment with laid-back appeal.  The most unique and coveted of the beer selection is the prominent Hourglass ale, a hand-crafted beer with amber body, produced exclusively for Stowe Mountain Lodge by Rock Art Brewery in Morrisville, VT.  Hourglass has also employed an expert mixologist to devise a menu of signature cocktails that speak to the natural surroundings and utilize many native Vermont ingredients. Hourglass’ signature cocktails exemplify the intensive ingredient selection process, featuring organic Sunshine vodka, Eden ice cider, Champlain Orchards cider and other local libations.

In addition to the outstanding selection of cocktails and beer, Hourglass is the perfect spot for fresh, contemporary bistro fare in a relaxed, mountain-side setting.  Guests can enjoy a selection of gourmet salads, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads from the freshest local ingredients available.  The menu at Hourglass is inspired and creative, yet integrates traditional and classic options prepared with gourmet flare.

Open seasonally and conveniently located on the pool deck, Aqua pool bar offers flavorful light fare from sandwiches and wraps to blended cocktails and fresh fruit smoothies.  Guests are invited to enjoy light snacks, relaxed lunch options and cool beverages while lounging around the heated pool or indulging in one of two oversized, outdoor jacuzzi spas.  With options for guests of all ages, Aqua pool bar brings a touch of effortless, refreshing service to the lively poolside setting.
