Leave the Boardroom Blahs Behind!

Red Bull Smoothie Breaks, Maple Foot Massages and Marshmallow-Roasting Stations Abound at the New Stowe Mountain Lodge

Stowe, Vt. (October 30, 2006) " When it opens June 2008, Stowe Mountain Lodge will provide meeting and event attendees with new levels of personalized service, offering programs and amenities designed to be as unique as the groups they are catering to. The 139-room luxury lodge, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts and currently being developed at the base of Stowe's famed Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak, aims to bring the degree of service found in the world's greatest resorts to New England.

"As we develop our amenities and services for leisure guests of Stowe Mountain Lodge, we are planning for every stay to be a truly 'bespoke experience'," says Jim Horsman, vice president and managing director. "It only makes sense for us to extend that creativity and customization to our corporate and social events as well."

To awaken the tired and weary, Stowe Mountain Lodge will provide personal trainers to lead executive stretching sessions at the beginning of a morning meeting, and Red Bull smoothies at 3:00pm to replace the ubiquitous afternoon coffee break. To reinforce Stowe's reputation as a place to relax and rejuvenate, the lodge will clear out conference room furniture, cover the floor with pillows and offer maple-infused hand and foot massages, to turn meetings into a tranquil and soothing experience for each guest. Welcome cocktail receptions will bring attendees back to their youth, with homemade marshmallow-roasting stations, passed "sugar on snow" cones and hot cider bars. The service of a dedicated conference concierge will ensure the flawless execution of all events, and guests will enjoy artisan cuisine provided by the hotel's signature restaurant, Solstice, in the lodge's 12,100 square feet of meeting space.

All of Stowe Mountain Lodge's meeting room names were inspired by Vermont trees, and designed to encourage creative and strategic thinking with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, plasma screens, wireless high-speed internet, ergonomic furniture and natural lighting. High-profile corporate meetings will benefit from four multi-function meeting rooms – Oak (Boardroom), Alder, Sugar Maple and Mountain Birch – each room measuring 650 square feet. The largest function space, the 5,400 square foot Tamarack Ballroom, offers spectacular mountain vistas and great flexibility with five breakout sections. For those looking to take advantage of the lodge's unique Vermont surroundings, an outdoor terrace with firepit will provide the ultimate setting for an upscale campfire cookout, allowing nature to play a part in creating a memorable experience.

No meeting or event in Stowe would be complete without time scheduled for invigorating activities, and the lodge is ideally located to grant visitors immediate access to the best the resort has to offer, every season of the year. Just outside the lodge's doors are trails and lifts leading to the finest skiing and snowboarding, as well as an exclusive 18-hole championship mountain golf course created by internationally-renowned designer Bob Cupp, the perfect location for a shotgun tournament or advance reserved tee times. With so many options available from private ski lessons to fly fishing expeditions and bike or kayak tours, a conference service manager will be available to anticipate a group's every need. After a day filled with meetings or activities, the lodge's luxuriant spa and wellness center will be ready and waiting with lush treatments to soothe and calm even the most stressed executive. With 19 treatment rooms, group spa appointments can easily be accommodated.

The new Stowe Mountain Lodge is located at the heart of the lively Spruce Peak at Stowe alpine village in historic Stowe, Vermont.
