The Different Drummer String Ensemble & Fiddle Camp

River Arts is pleased to present a new string ensemble and fiddle camp for ages 7-12 years, as part of its summer camp schedule.
Instructor/Musician Allen Church, will lead the camp the week of July 29-August 1, 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Focusing on playing together, campers will learn how follow a conductor, build their listening skills, and practice reading and theory. The day will include ensemble playing, fiddling, singing, some dancing, and ear training. Ensemble work will include fiddle tunes, Suzuki repertoire, playing 2 and 3 part music, and improvisation. Students should have at least a year of playing but no prior experience with groups is required.
