The New Stowe Mountain Lodge Selects Leadership Team for the Highly-Anticipated Launch of 21,000 Square Foot Spa and Cooper Wellness Center

Stowe, Vt. (April 9, 2008) - Destination Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Maggy Dunphy to Director of Spa and Wellness, and Kim Rausch to Director of Cooper Wellness, for the ultra-luxurious new Stowe Mountain Lodge, set to open late spring of this year. Maggy and Kim's combined knowledge and experience within the spa and wellness industries, coupled with their inherent understanding of how to achieve true emotional and physical well-being, make both women an integral addition to the world-class Stowe Mountain Lodge management team.

Maggy Dunphy brings over ten years of experience directing and managing some of the most renowned spas across the nation, including her most recent position in a dual role as Director of Spa Services for 12 distinct spas within the Destination Hotels & Resorts portfolio, and General Manager of Aria Spa & Club at Vail Cascade Resort & Spa. As Destination’s spa expert, Maggy has helped to create business and operating plans for the company’s newest spas including The Shores in Daytona Beach, Florida; Suncadia in Roslyn, Washington; and Terranea in Palos Verdes, California. In years prior, Maggy cultivated her vast knowledge and creative spirit through her time spent restructuring and enhancing an array of premier, top-shelf spas including the Allegria Spa in Beaver Creek, awarded "Best Spa in Colorado," during her first year on board. In addition, Maggy helped develop and market a natural line of skin care products for professional use in the spa industry and retail market. Maggy's pivotal leadership and expertise are sure to transform the luxurious 21,000 square foot spa and wellness center at Stowe Mountain Lodge into a sanctuary for relaxation, renewal, rejuvenation and healthy living.

As a testament that lifelong health and well-being can be achieved through perseverance, Maggy's abundance of awe-inspiring accomplishments exemplify her unwavering dedication to and innate passion for fitness, health and happiness. Her completion of both the Coeur d'Alene and Lake Placid Ironman triathlons represent her outstanding perseverance, strength and enthusiasm. Maggy also was a member of the Team in Training for the Leukemia Society of America, and in her free time is an expert-level mountain bike rider and competitor. A licensed massage therapist as well, Maggy's true embodiment of the spa lifestyle is apparent to all those who she has worked with. Under Maggy's stellar direction, and with her vibrant persona and contagious zeal, the Spa at Stowe Mountain Lodge aims to become the preeminent luxury mountain escape in the nation.

Maggy is already working to build an exceptional team, including Kim Rausch, who has been selected for the Director of Cooper Wellness at Stowe, a Stowe Mountain Lodge-based wellness center endorsed by the world-renowned Cooper Aerobics Center of Dallas, Texas. With a masters degree in both physical education, from the University of South Florida, and wellness management, from Ball State University in Indiana, Kim brings an impressive working knowledge of the cutting-edge trends and philosophies necessary for achieving, improving and maintaining a state of physical and emotional well-being. Kim's experience working as both a health educator for Healthy Achievers, a nationwide provider of worksite wellness programs, and an account manager for the Health & Wellness Institute, a catalyst for developing and promoting wellness solutions, have provided her with the skills necessary to evaluate, screen and counsel individuals, helping them to achieve their lifelong fitness goals. An ACSM certified Health/Fitness Instructor and a certified Health Promotion Director through the Cooper Institute, Kim's highly-esteemed qualifications make her an invaluable resource and an integral part of the Stowe Mountain Lodge spa and wellness community.

Kim's accomplishments and upstanding achievements span far greater than her impressive professional resume. As a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) graduate, and with a bachelor's degree in environmental science from William Smith College, Kim possesses a strong understanding of the crucial importance of preserving and protecting our natural surroundings. Kim's philosophies will only enhance the green initiatives that Stowe Mountain Lodge is already taking to preserve the environment. In addition, Kim was selected for soccer as a NSCAA/Umbro 1st team All-American in 1997, a true demonstration of her personal dedication to athletics and fitness. Kim's many talents in the areas of fitness, health and leadership will guide Cooper’s first resort-based center into becoming a world-class destination for physical well-being.
