Stowe Mountain Lodge Blog
Mid-December marks the beginning of a new wedding season--one filled with snowy backdrops and rich centerpieces surrounded by mercury glass and candlelight.
One of my favorite weeks of the year at Stowe Mountain Lodge is the second week in December. The crisp cold air of winter, the buzz and discussion of event-filled weeks ahead and the poinsettia tree gracefully positioned in the Lobby, welcoming the bride and groom to their winter wedding venue. It’s a perfect scene for an unforgettable event.
Guests arrive to the Lodge with their wedding outfit in one hand and ski boots in the other hand, ready to ski away the day and dance into the night. A winter wedding is a weekend long celebration with family and friends at Stowe Mountain Lodge. Many of the brides and grooms who consider a snowy destination wedding select this time of year because they want to gather around the fire and share stories of years gone by.
They also want to share a different way of life--the night sky with endless twinkling stars, the lights of the snow groomers to prepare for the next day, the peacefulness of a quiet morning ski run, a delicious stack of pancakes with VT maple syrup, the true rewards of a winter wonderland. These are the moments that are so priceless in the winter months, and these are the reasons a bride and groom choose this time of year to mark one of life's great milestones with us here in Stowe, Vermont. Happy Holidays!
