As a born-and-bred New Englander, I grew up eating Strawberry Shortcake. It’s a staple here in the summer, right along with lobster bakes, baked beans and fish fries.

That’s why I was so delighted to see Executive Chef Berry’s new summer menu included his own signature version of this quintessential New England dessert. Only his, like many things he is adding to Stowe Mountain Lodge’s new menu, has that old-meets-new, comfort-food-taste-with-a-twist that is out of this world!   

Made with a local Vermont honey biscuit, topped with a white chocolate whipped cream, and served with a house-made mixed berry sorbet, this dessert takes healthy strawberries to a whole new level! 

A New England native himself, Chef Berry appreciates innovative New England cuisine, and his strawberry shortcake is nothing less than fun, fresh and flavorful - the perfect end to a summer night of al fresco dining on Solstice’s patio. 

If you have fond memories of East Coast summer, filled with sunny days, warm nights and sweet treats, this Strawberry Shortcake is a trip down memory lane in a dish!
