Stowe Mountain Lodge Blog
There is an overwhelming impression around the mountains of Vermont that the traditional “mud season” is the time of year when most of the outdoor activities we love cease to be available. The more time I spend in Vermont, the more I like to challenge this notion. During every month in Vermont, we must accept that the weather will rarely be perfect, so why is the spring any different?
There are, in fact, some great things about the spring season that are often overlooked. How often are you able to ski a black diamond at Stowe in the morning and go for a bike ride on the Stowe Recreation Path in the afternoon? Maybe you’d prefer a morning snowshoe to a intensely flowing waterfall followed by an afternoon barbeque? With just a little bit of driving, it is even possible to ski and golf in the same day!
So get out there and embrace the changing of seasons, when winter and summer activities overlap. It is just another exciting stop on the exciting and fun ride that is the Vermont seasons. See you on the mountain!
