Spring Gardening and Landscaping at Stowe Mountain Lodge

“No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no culture comparable to that of the garden.”   -Thomas Jefferson

Although the ski trail Nosedive still has snow,  the gardens here at SML are pushing well into Spring! With Spring clean-up well underway, we are starting to see bio-indication that indeed the flora of SML is ready to put winter aside for now.

I always eagerly look forward to the brilliant white floral displays of Amelanchier  canadensis & Rhododendron ‘Spring Snow’. These displays are simply stunning and truly symbolize the departure of Winter and welcoming of Spring.

Combined with the natural display of Viburnum lantanoides , the Spring Whites are in full effect, and compliment emerging leaves throughout the forest.

With that said, I personally have yet to put my skis away for the season, but am truly looking forward to the gardening and landscaping season that's ahead for Stowe Mountain Lodge. Come see for yourself the beauty that enfolds in our natural landscapes and gardens.
