Skin It Is - Spring is the Time for a Facial in Vermont!
I’ve always had sensitive skin, my mom says for my entire life, even as a baby. And because of that, I learned at a young age to be diligent about my skin regime. I’ve used high-end products, three-to-four-step skin programs twice daily, weekly masks and monthly facials since as long as I can remember.
So when I recently treated myself to a Vitamin C Facial with Maggie Hazard, the lead esthetician at The Spa and Wellness Center at Stowe Mountain Lodge, I thought I would know what to expect as far as cleaning, exfoliating, moisturizing and relaxation. I was more than surprised when it was beyond what I’ve ever had when it comes to skin revitalization!
Sure, the exfoliating, moisturizing, and cleansing steps were suburb, as they always are when enjoying a little TLC for the skin while lying on a warm bed, under soft linens while listening to soothing music. But what made Maggie’s care so above and beyond most facials, in addition to her insightful knowledge on skin care products and regimes, was the microdermabrasion and eye lift services she added to the service.
The microdermabrasion and the effect it had on my skin are amazing. So much that I have already been back and plan on getting the service once a week for a while to remove all the dead skin winter leaves behind. After a 25-minute treatment, my skin is smooth, clear and noticeably soft. I’ve been complimented by many people already on how much I’ve been glowing. And, I haven’t worn any makeup in days!
The eyelift I was skeptical about. But when Maggy said that it’s basically “cardio for my eyes,” I was open to it. The next morning I was shocked to see the difference in my skin tone and lift around my eyelids. My normally tired eyes are hard to please, but this particular morning I looked wide awake, like a morning with a bottomless cup of coffee.
So, needless to say, I’m hooked, and looking forward to my month of weekly treatments with Maggy and mornings with beautiful skin! What could be a better start to summer than that?!
