Getting out with the Dogs

Vermont is known for outdoor activities but in November, sometimes you need to get a little creative. There’s no snow yet, but the summer has left us and the leaves have fallen. Thinking outside the box is something that Matt Hesser, our outdoor adventure guru, is known for. “This time of year is a great time to get out with the dogs. I recommend dog carting with Peacepups Dogsledding in Elmore, VT. Dog carting is like dog sledding without the snow in a specially made cart.” Then, as the weather turns to winter, you can experience dog sledding, skijoring and a number of other unique activities they offer, all within a short drive of the Lodge.
Not only is this activity a good adrenaline rush, but a feel good rush as well. Peacepups annually donates 10% of his profits toward ‘peace.’ Last year, he donated toward Democracy Now, March of Dimes and Special Olympics of Vermont to name a few. Go out and experience the dogs’ excitement and teamwork as they navigate you and your guide through the forested paths of Northern Vermont.
