"From the Kitchen" Purveyors' Dinner

Like many of our Destination Hotels & Resorts properties, at Stowe Mountain Lodge, we are passionate about the food we create and serve to our guests.

I always enjoy the personalities in the kitchen, so I thought I would share a video our Executive Chef, Josh Berry created to showcase local flavors.  In this video, he invited some friends who happen to be the producers of great local cheeses, breads, and wines.  All ingredients he incorporated into a special tasting menu.

At our Stowe, Vermont Lodge, Chef Berry is always asking our sales and banquet teams what our clients are asking for in menus – he wants to be as proactive and creative as possible and loves to have time to meet our potential clients during site visits. Recently, DH&R sent out a survey to meeting planners asking for trends in the coming year.  More than 78% of planners identified culinary offerings as an important part of their selection process. Less than 10% cited a ‘signature chef’ as part of that. Instead, planners call for food that focuses on health and nutrition (43%), as well as specialized dietary offerings (35%). It’s a great trend to see and one we are happy to be in step with.
