Stowe Mountain Lodge Blog
No matter how long you’ve been skiing or snowboarding, there is something about getting back on the mountain at the start of the season that is always so exciting year after year.
And the very first day back is always celebratory – pulling your equipment out of storage or buying new gear, making plans with friends and family for where and when to meet, getting that very early start with a morning cup of coffee – knowing today, if any, will be the day for a caffeine jolt and those leg strengthening exercises you’ve been doing just to prepare for the start of another season.Â
The rituals, the anticipation are what make the first day back on the mountain special each winter season. As skiers and snowboarders, whose passion completely depends on Mother Nature, it’s nothing short of a miracle that winter comes around each and every year, making everything white, serene and beautiful (especially here in Vermont). Once again, we can all get that adrenalin rush for several short months, which only comes with the cold weather that we love and that so many others choose to abhor.Â
Here in Stowe, we have plenty to celebrate this season beyond our annual rituals and celebrations for all things winter.Â
This season, for the first time ever, Stowe skiers will use the Evolution Stowe Card for hands-free lift access all day long! Â Enhanced with RFID technology, this card provides seamless access to lifts, and for Stowe Mountain Lodge guests, who also have access to our ski valet service, Â it only makes getting more time on the slopes that much easier! And what better way to get more runs in than on the new state-of-the-art Four Runner Quad at Mt. Mansfield, with access to the some of the best skiing in the East.Â
So whether your first day was opening day on Nov. 24th, or it’s not until your annual ski trip planned for later in the season, we invite you to celebrate and anticipate with us as we start another winter filled with the new beginnings and old traditions that Stowe is known and loved for. See you on the mountain!           Â
