Fall Flavors and Desserts at Stowe Mountain Lodge

Growing up in Ohio, Autumn wasn't as special as it is in Vermont.  It meant the cold was coming and the sun was going away for several long months and I honestly didn't look forward to that very much.  As the years have gone by and I’ve become a part of the food industry as well as a resident of Vermont, I’ve grown to appreciate this time of year-one that brings out the apple picking and pumpkin carving in everyone. That's ok by me!



Here in Vermont, it’s the time to see beautiful fall colors that spring out of nowhere and puts everyone in the area in high spirits.  Now’s the time to bring out the pumpkin and warm comfort foods that make everyone feel at home.  There are so many great fall flavors to use in baking and I love to experiment with what New England has to offer for fine pastry and dessert ingredients.

Being in the bakeshop is a constant learning experience.  You’re always learning new ways to do something, new flavors to experiment with and new ways to have fun with desserts.

One of my current favorites on the dessert menu at Stowe Mountain Lodge is the Caramel Apple Bread Pudding.  It’s served warm with Apple Pie Ice cream and hits the spot on a chilly day outside. Come visit us this November with friends and family and delight in the culinary options we are able to offer this time of year, especially our desserts. It's what dining in Vermont is all about at this time of year!
