"Come in! We're Open!" Stowe Mountain Lodge is open after Hurricane Irene
Tropical Storm Irene may have visited our tiny state Sunday night, but nestled high in the mountains, Stowe Mountain Lodge fared well and is just as ready to welcome you to Stowe, Vermont as ever.
Roads are clear, attractions are open and the first hints of color are painting the trees, foreshadowing a colorful autumn. Of course, there are stories that came out of experiencing the storm, but you’ll have to come up and listen to them firsthand, as is Vermont tradition. So if you were planning on coming, there’s no reason not to come – it’s the perfect time to grab the last hints of summer and fresh air before we start tuning our skis.
While we in Stowe and at Stowe Mountain Lodge are all open and ready to welcome you, some of our neighbors in central and southern Vermont didn’t fare as well. Local communities are still digging out and rebuilding but in this tiny state, there are big spirits cemented in volunteerism and the “can-do” attitude. If you would like to help, please consider one of these options:
- Text FOODNOW to 52000 - the Vermont Foodbank will turn your $10 donation into $60 worth of groceries for families in need.
- Make a donation to the statewide Vermont Disaster Relief Fund through the United Way to help with unmet long term needs of survivors
See you in Stowe!
