After a day of traveling to get to the meeting or sitting in sessions all day, how do you plan on getting meeting attendees motivated and refreshed for learning and working? This week, Stowe Mountain Lodge is proud to host the Destination Hotels & Resorts Food & Beverage conference and together, these entities have come up with innovative ways to do just that.
After a welcome reception last night, day one was kicked off with Stowe-ga, Earthing and a healthy breakfast outside to take in the fresh Vermont air. Attendees started their day with a quick Earthing session lead by Spa Director Maggy Dunphy where she explained the up-and-coming trend of reconnecting with the Earth through the soles of your feet. She described our planet as six sextillion ton battery that we are constantly on but disconnected from. By removing your shoes and allowing your feet - the largest network of nerve endings in your body - to connect with the soil, the energy from the ground helps to balance our bodies including the immune system.
Next, Rebecca Rahilly, Fitness Instructor, lead the group in Stowe-ga, slopeside yoga that typically happens at the base of ski slopes to prepare skiers and riders for the day but is a great summer stretch as well. Happening in the woods, participants could practice their yoga poses while listening to the sounds of the birds, the stream and be only steps away from their slopeside breakfast which included housemade V8 and juices, whole wheat streusel and egg white frittatas.
